The Brightview Bethesda assisted living apartment building project at 4907 Rugby Avenue has topped out. Construction contractor Donohoe Construction celebrated with a luncheon for the project team.
Eight stories above downtown Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle, the Brightview Bethesda will house 113 units, with independent living, assisted living, and memory care residential options. Residents will also be across the street from future retail and restaurant options at Donohoe's own Gallery Bethesda II development, which is nearing delivery.
Brightview Bethesda is scheduled to deliver in the spring of 2019.

I walked by the other day and noticed the light tan brick facade, with red brick accents going up on the east side. I must say that this color combination seemed very awkward to me. That whole neighborhood of oatmeal colored brick buildings seems odd, including the new police station and the Stonehall condo’s. Tan brick always looks washed out and bland to me. A whole neighborhood of this color along Rugby compounds this effect.
I see that the renderings for Brightview seem to show more silver metal on the south facade, so I hope this helps.
Does anyone else notice this preponderance of oatmeal colored brick in the area? It almost seems like this bland color of masonry, that was used on elementary schools in the 60’s, is now becoming popular again.
