Assault reported at Suburban Hospital, drug arrest/assault at BCC HS + more - Bethesda crime update

Here's a roundup of crimes reported across Bethesda on February 29, according to crime data:

Vehicle burglary. 7100 block Woodmont Avenue.

Drug arrest/assault. Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School.

Vehicle burglary. 4700 block Chevy Chase Drive.

Assault. Suburban Hospital.

Vehicle burglary. 7700 block Connecticut Avenue.

Theft. Bloomingdale's.

Drug arrest. Wildwood Shopping Center.

Vehicle burglary. 7900 block Jensen Place.

Theft. 11700 block Old Georgetown Road (Pike District).

There are usually police at Suburban and I guess for good reason. I'm surprised that a hospital such as Suburban has the violence it does. There are reports on this blog all the time of assaults occurring at the hospital. You'd expect that at an inner-city or big city trauma center maybe but not here. Clearly it's an issue though.

2:00 PM - the assault did not necessarily happen AT Suburban. More likely it was reported to police after the victim was taken there.

Well after the media backlash on that police shooting in a hospital, everyone's probably pretty sensitive about it now
