Bethesda construction update: Duck Duck Goose restaurant (Photos)

A logo and other signage has been painted on the facade of French restaurant Duck Duck Goose, opening soon at 7929 Norfolk Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The brasserie will place an emphasis on small plates, under the direction of chef-owner Ashish Alfred of Bethesda's 4935 Bar + Kitchen. This was previously the home of Brasserie Monte Carlo, which closed last year.

I asked for an update and got one, but Dyer this report doesn't tell us anything. Its just exterior pictures. You are better than this.

Never understood the concept of small plates for sharing. Shouldn't large plates be meant for sharing instead?

Expected opening date?

And, god, I hate the name so much. It makes me want to go paint over that exterior. Last time I was in 4935 it felt like it was some sort of weird mafia front club/Eyes Wide Shut club.

I think the name is great. to each his own.

Right. Same owners who have no idea what they're doing. Another failure in waiting. Experienced owners, maybe. Just look at 4935 and that'll give you a clue. Stupid name for both of their places actually.

Better than the ripped Spitluck billboard.

There's always a weird run-off (water?) on the sidewalk between here and Brickside. Anyone else ever notice that?

In French, it should be spelled "expresso".

Yeah it's pretty disgusting and freezes in the cold to make a dangerous icy situation.

I like the name. It's fun! Like Gringos and Mariacchis. Hopefully it can create a vibe and help the downtown Bethesda nightlife.

Does 4935 get any customers? I never see people going there. The old place used to make their money from renting out their banquet hall for bar mitzvahs and wedding receptions. Is that what 4935 is doing too?

The food and atmosphere are terrible at 4935. The exterior appears like this will be more successful than 4935, but I don't have much confidence considering my experiences at 4935

The building looks good at night.

"Duck, Duck, Goose" what an incredibly cleaver name for a restaurant in the growing Bethesda restaurant scene. Can't wait...
