Source: Nike Store to take over City Sports space at Pike & Rose

Pike & Rose may have found an even-higher-profile retailer to take over the space vacated by City Sports last October 31. A source tells me a Nike Store will open there in June.

Nike, Inc. and a leasing agent for Pike & Rose have both declined to comment as of press time. There is currently only one Nike Store in the DC region, in Georgetown.

Hopefully this lasts, but it seems more of the same.

Pike & Rose needs to get more housing and office space ASAP.

While the twins love Nike, I liked being able to get my newbies at City Sports. Looks like I'll have to go to Fleet Feet.

That sounds like a great new tenant!

They certainly would have the cash to survive in that spot!

Huge retail news and a big improvement over City Sports. This will draw people in.

6:39 is likely being sarcastic

More post deletions that don't match Dyer's message of hate for Riemer. If you want to encourage productive discussions and not just trolling, don't simply delete posts that are thought provoking and question aspects of your story. Maybe try writing a coherent response to engage in product adult level dialogue?

Why do you never cite the source? If it's just a basic press release then why not mention that? If it's some random guy on Facebook telling you, then why not mention that? This is journalism 101.

I bet Hull is crawling around Pike & Rose now looking for a Nike sign. :)

8:17. You do know that some of us read the posts before they get deleted, right? So we know how FOS you are.

8:29: Confidential sources are part of Journalism 101. You must have slept through that lecture.

8:17: That's the first time I've ever encountered the words, "Hans Riemer" and "thought-provoking" in the same sentence.

Another 2 pts for Dyer's 9:58 comment.

And yet he won the election over other candidates

@9:57 by "confidential" I think Dyer means "fabricated" #birdbrain

Because every elected official is wonderful and beyond reproach
hahahahahahahahaha

11:44: So did Stalin.

Robert Dyer said...

11:51: FYI, Woodward & Bernstein used confidential sources, knucklehead.

Ooh is that a Riemer - Stalin comparison?

Complexity of thought is not your forte.

The opening of a new sporting goods store locally is the moral equivalent of the Watergate scandal?

Insane hyperbole much?

And did Woodward or Bernstein ever call their readers "knuckleheads" or "dumasses"?

Robert Dyer said...

7:11: Woodward and Bernstein never had to deal with trolls like you.

6:53: A lot better than who the Washington Post seems to think is now acceptable to compare a presidential candidate to.
