Here's a Bethesda demolition project that has created a scene reminiscent of a Greek ruin on Bethesda Avenue. The long-planned removal of an arch alongside the Artery Plaza building is underway, in an effort to create a larger patio dining area for the vacant restaurant space inside.
When the project was first proposed, owner JBG was still seeking a tenant, but we now know that World of Beer is the restaurant that will eventually open here later this year.

A Modernist square steel "arch" with cast concrete panels partially removed does not equal the Parthenon.
Really looking forward to this. Thanks for the update! Do they have an anticipated opening date?
Vacant restaurant space? I don't recall a restaurant ever being there. Montgomery's was one level up.
Isn't there a realtor in the space now? Are they moving to accommodate world of beer?
12:00: It has been advertised by JBG as restaurant space, so that's what I'm referring to, not the past.
1:35: The space has had window screens over it for a couple of years now.
Wrol, late 2016 is the announced date at the moment.
Oh am I thinking of a different spot? Montgomery Grill was where the realtor is now, right? Where is World of Beer going in?
