Demolition of Bethesda office building underway (Photos)

The demolition of a small office building on Fairmont Avenue has begun. Next to the rubble that used to be the BP gas station at Old Georgetown Road, the building is being removed to make way for the Cheval Bethesda luxury condo tower. The Cheval is being developed by Duball, LLC.

That was a fun looking building. Oh well. Change can be good. We need more housing stock.

6:27AM - why don't you take them and put them in your blog?

Oh, good, another condo tower on the way. I was getting worried that we didn't have enough.

More condos and crappy, old restaurants like Positano, survive.

More condos and apartments is a good thing. We need a lot more housing stock to help keep pricing in check and bring in population to support retailers.

Just what we need, more condos for baby boomers to make this city even older

More housing is good for everyone of all ages.

12:06/2:35: You're not only spamming for your favorite site, you're also a complete [expletive] moron. I not only have covered the Pike Plan process in every detail over the last several years, I even testified on it before the Rockville Planning Commission, you imbecile!

For you to try to make such a preposterous claim that your site helicoptering in on behalf of certain politicians and developers for an article at this late stage somehow trumps my blow-by-blow, wall-to-wall coverage of the Pike Plan on Rockville Nights, is total BS.

God, what a lowlife, lying moron you are. Unbelievable.

Oh, I'm sorry, that was the wrong quote (but from the same movie). It should have been this one:

I insist that all bloggers who have hysterics in my drawing room call me by my Christian name.

I don't get shaken down for "donations" there. :)

9:39: Spammers coming over from a competing website to promote their site in my comments section are not "patrons" of my blog.

I'm taken so seriously as a media source and potential politician that they're paying you big bucks to post troll comments on my site all day. Your very existence disproves your point.
