Bethesda restaurants open for Christmas 2016

It's not too late to make dinner reservations for Christmas Day. But if you'd like to celebrate the holiday by dining out, the time to make reservations is now - some restaurants have few or no seats remaining. Here is my annual roundup of restaurants open for dinner on Christmas Day. Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and Happy Holidays to each of my readers!

Positano

From a classic Italian restaurant in downtown Bethesda, you might expect traditional feast of the seven fishes to be held on Christmas Eve, just as they do in Positano Italy. And you will find it Christmas Eve, from noon until 10:00 PM.

And you'll also find it Christmas Day, from noon to 9:00 PM, as well. The menu both days includes Clams Casino, Fried Cod, Linguini Clams, Octopus and Calamari Salad, Fried Smelts, Stuffed Shrimp, Calamari a la Luciana.

Pricing will be a la carte. You can order individual items, or all seven. Prepare for the aromas of Christmas sweets to fill the room. For those who would like to order something else, their regular menu is also available all day.

Yuzu

Here's a welcome change for Christmas. This downtown Bethesda gem is offering a special Christmas sushi plate. But they're also just about booked-up, according to OpenTable.

Founding Farmers

This popular American restaurant at Park Potomac will be serving up Christmas favorites from noon until 8 PM on Christmas Day.

Uh oh... looks like someone else has the "in" at Owen's Ordinary now...

Where will Dyer get his food now?

Will the soup kitchen at the Lutheran church be open?

Park Potomac isn't in Bethesda. The second word is your clue.

STFU. I like Park Potomac and appreciate the news.
The Trader Joe's and new Target aren't Bethesda either. They're Chevy Chase. It's a side-of-the-street thing.

5:11: Park Potomac is very much a part of today's definition of "Bethesda." Just crossing I-270 doesn't mean you're in Potomac. Your continued hypocrisy of nitpicking something like that, but saying nothing when Bethesda Magazine reports on Comet Ping Pong in the District, or a drug bust in Clarksburg, makes it clear you are just a dishonest paid troll, as well as a dumpster-diving hobo.

8:56: I paid for my meal at Owen's Ordinary, idiot. I did an actual review, not just a slideshow for extra clicks per photo.

10:30: You should know, as Bethesda's resident dumpster-diving hobo!

8:54: The only one I've dined at on Christmas Day so far was Founding Farmers. I thought the food was very good, but they ran out of a number of items, especially desserts. So I didn't get a dessert I wanted.

Your family doesn't invite you to Christmas dinner, Dyer?

6:48: There's nothing written above that suggests that. You seem to be projecting your own issues onto others.

6:48AM is hinting he wants to ask you to his house for Christmas dinner, Robert.
Turn him down. I don't trust him.
