Bethesda Curry Kitchen hopes to reopen today
It's been a long week for Bethesda Curry Kitchen, which was forced to close when a utility wire was improperly left dangling over Cordell Avenue, and thereby was snagged and pulled down by a truck late last week. Pepco finally came to restore electricity to the restaurant on Tuesday, a full five days after it was knocked out.
The owner had to remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday to restock the restaurant, and thoroughly clean and sanitize from the power outage impact. The restaurant is now expected to reopen for business today, September 14, 2018. It's good to hear the owner took extensive steps to ensure that customers are getting fresh food; hopefully the owner can recoup his substantial losses from Pepco, as it was their code violation that caused the extended closure.

"The owner had to remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday"
How do you close an owner?
Shouldn't this be, "the restaurant had to remain closed", or "the owner was forced to keep the restaurant closed"?

LOL
At first I was surprised this business does OK, but I think the key is the buffet. With buffet-style, they can choose what to offer and can make it in large quanties for less. Got a good deal on chicken this week? Let's use it in the buffet!
Also fewer staff with a buffet-style restaurant. I've been there a few times, and often it's just the owners (husband and wife) there, so lower labor costs.
The food is actually decent, especially for the price.
8:11 AM Wonderful questions, but have nothing to do with the article.
Why not just email Dyer directly?
I sure hope they don't reopen. It looks awful and I hear the food is awful.
12:33 PM = Mr. Leventhal weighing in. Man, he's always been tough on Bethesda and Silver Spring restaurants.
1:35 PM There were Trone ads everywhere. I doubt you ranted about Trone in every restaurant story elsewhere, just because of he had a political ad.
Please just email Dyer directly.
It's 9:45 PM (EDT) on Friday night, one hour and 15 minutes from their normal closing time. So did BCK re-open or not?
"Pepco, as it was their code violation that caused the extended closure."
Are you sure you are using that term correctly?
So did BCK re-open on Saturday night?
