Tire store coming to Elm St.

An unnamed tire retailer is coming soon to 4919 Elm Street, formerly home to Bethesda Pet. But it's very likely to be a new concept from tire giant Goodyear. One possibility is Roll by Goodyear, a.k.a. Let's Roll, with the latter branding seeming insensitive given the term's 9/11 association. That new Goodyear retail and mobile service concept is coming soon to Rockville Town Square, in a similar garage-free space.

Goodyear is hiring for "Let's Roll" in Bethesda, but is not giving the street address. But the company filed for a trademark on the phrase "Tires on Your Terms" last month, a term that appears on the signage here. That trademark approval is still pending. Goodyear also trademarked "Roll by Goodyear," and "Roll by Just Tires," in May, but not "Let's Roll."

Have you filed a trademark application for "Suburban Network News" yet?

If it's Goodyear, then I bet the long-time Goodyear franchise just down the road on Arlington Road next to the VW dealership will be pissed.

Funny that three high resolution renderings of the EYA concepts finest the FWM were furnished to the Bethesda Beat for publication, and not you...

It's bad enough that restaurants have become "concepts".

Now, tire stores?

If they can deliver gas to your car while you shop or work, tires is probably the next thing.

10:57 - already a thing. I got tires from tirerack.com who delivered them to a company that came to my house (will also do business) and installed them two days after I ordered them. And it was all a few bucks cheaper than going to Costco and having them done there.

10:25: Not surprising at all, considering they knew they would get a glowingly positive article, That's why people are turning to this blog, to find out what's really going on in Montgomery County.

12:08 PM translated = I'm too lazy to attend public meetings and would rather get the download back in Frederick.

Fair/"real" reporter = follow the "Patch" playbook and suck up to every elected official and don't ask tough questions. Be "friends" and try to maintain access. Thrills up your leg when a councilman mentions your blog post are optional.

12:08PM would be more comfortable in Putin's Russia. If you don't like the report, attack the journalist. Call him fake...and worse.
