Bethesda party store seeking investors to "keep the doors open"

The challenges of the moribund Montgomery County economy, combined with a nationwide helium shortage, has one Bethesda party store seeking a lifeline as the new year begins. Party Mania at 4910 Cordell Avenue is facing "financial difficulties caused by a severe helium shortage," the owner says. He is seeking investors or donations to help keep the store afloat. Interested investors can contact him, or send PayPal donations to, partymaniamd@gmail.com, or stop by the store during business hours.

Oh no, it's too early in the day for the tequila shots I have to take for every use of the word moribund

Who wants to invest in a sinking ship?? If Balloons are the main source of income; no wonder they are going under.

Just because a business closes doesn't mean it's due to of a slow economy. Some stores are just a poor business decision. It's not like a store selling party supplies is a hot market in any city...

I love moribund - it just triggers some folks :) And Party City, a huge company just filed for bankruptcy, maybe Americans should work more and party less? Just a thought :)

Will become another smoke shop. Closing Norfolk has had unintended impacts on businesses nearby- some benefit, others do not.
