Can we have some follow-up on all these crime stories? Or where do we go to find out more? I am curious about these carjackings, condo garage break-ins, assaults. I want to know who the people doing them are. Are they our neighboors paying high condo prices and rents? Are they people who came into town from adjacent cities or counties and, if so, which? Was this specific incident related to drugs? Was it a drunken bar fight?

Why is our police force not doing more to prevent crime and reassure the populace that Bethesda is and will be safe? I almost never see them out anywhere.

You're not suggesting that an officer be stationed in every Bethesda bar/restaurant, are you??

News Flash: There was a fight at a bar after midnight.
In other breaking news: there was a haircut at a barber shop during the day.

I believe that they are holed up in a four-story building on Rugby Avenue.
Once I called about a person holding a steel bar and knocking on my door at 12 midnight.
But, I ended up hanging up on them after a ten-minute question and answer session.

Oh, come on, @12:55. It was a bar fight. There is plenty of legitimate crime in the area, sure, but this particular one is not in the realm of armed carjackers or the like.

Kudos and big thanks to Robert for this, and his other, blogs!! There is no way he can keep up with all the news and with that, the crime. A few incidents have escaped notice which continue to illuminate BCC crime.

A strong arm robbery about the 1st of this month over by Pearl and EWH, and something else, I've forgotten.

One thing sadly lacking seems to be investigation and prosecution news from our police. Do we just have to assume that we are defenseless sitting ducks? It's only going to get worse, much worse particularly if we (they) are ineffective and remote.

Sure didn't sound that way to me. Talk about deflection from basic facts!!!

8:46 That's too crude.
I was thinking of a trap door.

Living downtown I see police cars all over. I’m not sure what you want them to do to prevent a random assault at a bar.

11:01 PM But, is there any sign of life in them?
