The fountains on the plaza at the Bethesda Metro Center have been activated for the summer. They took some time off last year while WMATA replaced an escalator with a new staircase. Bethesda's water features remind us of the inspiration behind our town's name: the healing pool of Bethesda in Jerusalem.

Are there any fountains being activated over there where businesses are fleeing. I can't recall seeing any when I lived on that side of the river. Let's celebrate what we have here in Bethesda. It's pretty sweet when can you can sit outside and watch the birds drink while you drink.
