The former home of The Blue House at 7770 Norfolk Avenue in the Woodmont Crescent building has been vacant for over a year. Inside, it is currently undergoing a major and unusual demolition. Piles of dirt are bisected by a deep trench gouged into what's left of the shop's floor. Outside, new signs offer the space for lease, and a rendering shows the space converted into a taco restaurant as an idea of what may be possible here. Looking for The Blue House? It's just up the street at 7833 Woodmont Avenue, in the ground floor of Fairmont Plaza.

Former Blue House space pitched for lease as a restaurant in Bethesda

Seems like a good place for a restaurant. The idea of a recessed covered outdoor seating area seems like a cool idea. It’s too bad the Woodmont Grill doesn’t serve food outside anymore in their similar covered outdoor patio.
I noticed that the rendering shows a possible restaurant in the existing furniture store, not in the space that is currently under construction (and has for lease decals in the window. I’m assuming the renderer might have goofed up…
How far down does that hole go? My gosh, looks like an archeological dig.
That would be a great location for a new restaurant. Blacks and Woodmont Grill both solid Seafood/New American spots. Maybe an Italian joint with and indoor/outdoor vibe?
Anything to make Woodmont sweat. As a huge Hillstone group fan, Woodmont is by far an abysmal weak link. The food is fine. It’s the incredible arrogance and attitude that makes one feel as they should count their lucky stars to be allowed in. In my former home, the Los Altos Grill was the Hillstone restaurant. Absolutely spectacular and a warm gathering place for the neighborhood. Woodmont is an utter joke.
