Bethesda resident Karolina Jablonska is raising funds for 22 refugee families from Ukraine who are currently in Poland. Two of the families have been taken in by Jablonska's family who still live in Poland; the other 20 are living in a motel in Zduńska Wola, Jablonska's hometown. All of the families consist of mothers and their children. Jablonska will be hosting a fundraising picnic with Polish food this coming Sunday, March 27, 2022 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at Fleming Park, located at 9929 Fleming Avenue in Bethesda.
Attendees are welcome to bring their own dishes. There will be an arts and crafts table where kids can make cards to send to the children of the families. If you cannot attend but still want to help, Jablonska's online payment information is as follows:
