Construction on the newest D.C.-area location of The Salt Line at Bethesda Row began just over a month ago, with the start of destruction of the former Kapnos Kouzina/Vapiano interior at 4900 Hampden Lane. Work has continued at a steady pace since, but Salt Line co-owner Kyle Bailey is putting the kibosh on dreams of a summer opening here. In a report posted this morning, Bailey tells Washington Post dining critic Tom Sietsema that Salt Line's Bethesda debut is still eight to twelve months away. Sietsema cites supply chain issues as the reason for the delay.

That's a huge problem missing the upcoming warm weather season especially with their concept and the most important thing which is we'll finally see an uptick in people dining out now that, magically, there's no Covid fear, everyone is maskless and definitely looking to eat out more. So, they'll have a winter opening? Not good. My guess is that it won't open at all and you'll be back reporting that their plan has been scuttled altogether.
Supply chain issues are crazy at the moment and will likely cause myriad issues for business owners. A friend of mine had to have body-work done on his Honda from a late December accident and they still don't have all of the necessary parts in.

Not sure if you skipped the article, but we're talking about 2023 here. They are not missing the "warm weather season;" they'll hit it just fine...next year.

6:55 - I didn't skip anything. There's no specific mention that this restaurant will open in summer 23. You say, "we're talking about 2023 here". That's not mentioned at least not specifically so I don't know what you're talking about. They may in fact make it by summer 23 but that's not at all clear nor certain at this stage.
Read slower. The article says 8-12 months. We're talking about 2023. The "upcoming warm weather" is entirely irrelevant.
