Workers were making final preparations for today's grand opening of the AMC Theatres Montgomery 16 cineplex at Westfield Montgomery Mall last night. The floor has been waxed to a reflective shine, but there were still boxes in the lobby. An AMC "guide to movie ratings" framed poster had been tacked to the wall in the former gift shop area. It will be interesting to see the status of the MacGuffins Bar, as last night there were still boxes on the bar, and few tables and chairs in the seating area from the old ArcLight Cinemas bar.

Can you comment on the former bar? That to me never seemed like a fit given so many families patronize this theater and mall. It looks like the bar is going to be somewhat repurposed. Thank you for shedding light on that. They should have scraped that altogether but maybe it will just be for food which would be more appropriate.
10:38: AMC has currently listed MacGuffins Bar as an amenity at this location on its website, though it's not clear if it will be ready to go tonight.
AMC has a bar at its Wheaton Plaza and Rio theaters, so it is pretty standard for them now, like recliners.
Thank you! This will be an upgrade from Archlight. Which, at first, was attractive but somehow lost its luster.
It's great to see AMC put big money into this location.
We have the AMC Ape Army to thank for all that new capital AMC was able to raise. Apes together strong!
