Arby's closes in North Bethesda (Photos)

Here's a shocker: Arby's has closed at 11710 Rockville Pike in the White Flint area. While restaurants were devastated by indoor dining bans over the last year, fast food restaurants with drive-thrus like this Arby's often enjoyed booming business during the same period.

Fast food restaurants usually serve the largest percentage of customers via the drive-thru to begin with. But as of Tuesday night, this Arby's has been cleared out; even the menu boards are gone at the drive-thru and inside.

This is all Elrich's fault for not keeping the indoor dining ban. How are drive-thrus supposed to survive in this pro-business climate?!?

No surprise, in the years that this Arby's has been in business it amazed me how they stayed open, they never had a fast-food size crowd during the peak hours. Arby's roast beef doesn't have the same natural taste as Roy Roger's, and their fries are a cross between tater tots and real fries. No big loss.

"We have the meats" is now "We don't have the meats".

So, is this a poorly-performing restaurant that is pulling the plug?

Or are they redeveloping the site? If so, is Popeye's at risk?

Arby's is not at the top of the fast-food heap for a reason.

Roy Rogers roast beef sandwiches were an absolute wonder when we moved to Bethesda from NYC

So delicious! Just the absolute best
Brings back so many happy memories of dad mom and all brothers and sisters amazed at the Bethesda Rockville fast foods of the 70s

I'm an Arby's fan. This store was not well run and the building was tired. Entrances to bathrooms were outside.

You haters should try the French Dip and Onion Rings!! :)

@6:38 AM If you only understood the basics of business, you wouldn't be making everything a political whine, because you are against someone in government. Put down the tainted Cool-aid.

R.I.P. Arby's. I never went there. Always just wondered to myself every time I was picking up some Popeyes, "I wonder who's still eating at Arby's when there's McDonald's and Popeyes sandwiched on either side? Huh, well good for them." I guess most people were probably thinking the same thing.

The equity firm that owns arbys and dunkin were bragging about how they torpedoed the bill to increase the minimum wage. I have no sympathy for businesses that pay poverty wages and offer garbage benefits. Good riddance.
