Santa Claus and holiday generosity to take over Westwood Shopping Center December 15 in Bethesda

Westwood Shopping Center owner Equity One is tapping into a Westwood-area Bethesda Christmas tradition, teaming up with Santa Claus and the Glen Echo Volunteer Fire Department for a Holiday Social and Charity Drive next Tuesday, December 15, from 4:30-7:30 PM. One of the highlights of the holidays in that part of Bethesda is Santa Claus' annual tour of the neighborhoods by fire truck, thanks to the GEVFD.

Now you'll know exactly where Santa is, at least this once - in the parking lot of the Westwood Shopping Center, across from Anglo Dutch Pools and Toys. Make sure to stop by before 6:30 PM to see old St. Nick, and his fire truck. There'll also be a tent, hot cocoa, holiday music and a photo booth for that Westwood Shopping Center selfie you need for Instagram.

Bring a gently-used coat for the GEVFD's coat drive, in partnership with MetroAid. No spare coat? Bring an unwrapped toy to benefit the National Center for Children and Families of Bethesda.

Even better, support small, local business by buying those unwrapped toys right there at Anglo Dutch, and then donating them to the toy drive. Brilliant!

Sounds like a nice event, and good opportunity to give back during the holidays! 🌲🎄. Also I love the Santa fire truck that Glen Echo puts on in the neighborhood, it's so much fun to see.
