The carjacking took place at the Cordell-St. Elmo Public Parking Garage 40 at 4935 St. Elmo Avenue. County police have arrested three of the four suspects involved, and have recovered the stolen vehicle, which was a rental car, according to a person with knowledge of the status of the investigation. As if the anti-carry folks that participate here need any further proof of the insanity and ultimately unconstitutional position this state has taken. This is an amazing period of lawlessness and good and decent citizens should be allowed to carry a firearm should they desire to in order to protect themselves. SCOTUS may trump MD on this soon let's hope

Hopefully the police are allowed to keep them in jail….
But the sorosda hired by democrats loves giving criminals get out of jail free cards

Hopefully these criminals will turn in their guns when Democrats ban them.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

being necessary to the security of a free State Nothing in there about being necessary for personal safety. Just being necessary to the security of a free State That is why the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

All of us in the reality-based community recognize how hard it is for your side to own up to the fact the Second Amendment doesn't say or imply anything about your right to feel protected walking down the street... or riding in a junky Korean sedan. We also know chances are better than not the compromised, politicized Supremes will soon allow people ever more unfettered access to firearms. Do not misunderstand any such loosening of restrictions to mean actual definitions of English words, such as those in the 2A, have been magically altered to now mean what they never did. They have not. It means an unelected super-legislative panel of six has decided to form the law in the mold their financial benefactors dictated. What could be more American than that?

What a pity there wasn't a nearby good guy with a gun, like the 32 year-old Bethesda resident who on Friday night was arrested by MPD for pulling a gun on an employee outside a DC strip club after being ejected for starting a fight inside.

Amazing period of lawlessness? Lifestyle crime (muggings, carjackings, so on) were statistically higher during the 80s and 90s then they are right now. We are seeing a slight increase after a lull during the Obama administrations.
Sorry you feeling these bad vibes, brah

@8:50 PM: "If it stops one crime" isn't as politically comfortable for you as "If it saves one life" for some reason. You know why, but you won't admit it. I conceal carry, but I won't risk my life for someone like you. Go call the police you defunded instead. Thanks.

The thinly veiled anti-Semitism of comments like:

"sorosda [sic] hired by democrats [sic]"

(Soros D A. hired by Democrats?)

reminds us that there are still paranoid, Jew-hating, gun-nuts no matter where you look. You used to need to turn a rock over to find them. Now, you just need to find the comments section of any Blog.

George Soros has done more to advance democratic ideals, (including the right to free speech, which includes inane, defamatory comments like yours) especially in countries where free speech is considered tantamount to a crime, than any other person alive. Soros, quite literally, puts his money where his mouth is, every single day.

His son, Jonathan Soros, cofounded a SuperPac dedicated to *reducing*, and hopefully eliminating, the availability of private and "dark" money as a way to influence politics.

Soros and Family are far too busy working on world problems to get involved in the hiring hi-jinks of hyper local politics you have developed a conspiracy theory about.

But don't worry...no doubt there's likely a bed available in Suburban Hospital's 7300 Unit waiting with your name on it.

@7:48 Touché. Well said.

Where does one start with someone as devoutly anti-American as 7:48? Soros and the prosecutors he's supported are responsible for more deaths in urban areas through the use of non-prosecution and cash bail. But I guess as a liberal supporter you favor the killing of mostly African American citizens doing the work the KKK never could.

All one has to do is look at the people he's helped into office and the commensurate crime/shooting/death rates. Unbelievable how anyone with half a brain can't see the destruction caused by these liberals. They just recalled the DA in SF where you can't leave anything unlocked on store shelves because of the lack of prosecution. Walgreens has closed over 15 locations there because they can't stay in business due to theft.

Spare us the liberal tripe about democracy which you know nothing about because results ALWAYS matter and liberals don't have any.

Current homicide rate in the US is half what it was in the 90s. If you're going to "blame" that on Soros then congrats on being a comically bad anti-semite.

3:06 - Correct and thank you!

Labeling any criticism of George Soros as thinly veiled anti-Semitism' is a typical liberal ploy. I'm Jewish, and I think Soros' support for prosecutors who are soft on violent crime is shameful. Soros also funds anti-Israel causes, so he is hardly worth defending as a Jew anyway. I think he is pure evil.

6:45 - I don't how the totally insane Soros got into this. But, you're spot on. He is deplorable put it that way.
