Positano restaurant building for lease in Bethesda

The Positano Ristorante Italiano saga continues at 4948 Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda. Signs posted on the front of the building indicate the restaurant space is now available for lease. An internal struggle and legal battle caused the popular restaurant to close its doors more than a year ago. The owner of the business had hoped to reopen here, but it appears a return will likely have to be at another location.

Internal if you mean major family battle over this with at least one side playing major hardball

All these years and I never tried the place. Great facade, which the new owner will undoubtedly tear down.

Amazing how many long time Bethesda spaces are currently vacant and available for lease - Positano, Harp & Fiddle, the old Grapeseed space on Cordell, the former McCormick & Schmicks, Tragara/George's Chophouse...all have had multiple lives through the decades

Birds and Squirrels live there now, leave it as is... An eye-appealing SANCTUARY!

if the new tenant has a brain they will not alter the physical structure-it's one of the few restaurants in Bethesda that is plaster, wood, brick, marble, etc which creates this mysterious thing called "ambience".
please no more glass & steel!

It may have ambiance. But like a lot of structures in Woodmont Triangle, that building used to be an auto repair shop.
