Little Sesame opening on hold at Bethesda Row

Last August, Little Sesame announced plans to open a new location at 7118 Bethesda Lane at Bethesda Row. Ten months later, there has been no construction inside the restaurant's future space. I asked the company for an update. A spokesperson said that Little Sesame has put the Bethesda expansion on hold, and plans to concentrate in the immediate future on its retail line of hummus products. Their D.C. locations remain open for business, and you can buy their hummus at several places in Bethesda, including Bradley Food & Beverage and Whole Foods Market.

That's too bad. I was wondering what was taking them so long to build out such a small space.

Is it just going to sit vacant as their lease agreement runs or will they try to sublease it to someone else for the duration of the "hold"?

On the other hand I hear the French Bakery "Maman" is opening on June 6th in the old Le Pain Quotidien space.

They should take the signage down if they are not opening - it is misleading.
