Cut-through traffic in the Springfield neighborhood hasn't changed, but the barricades and signage around the road closures causing it has. A long chain of barriers that attempted to force drivers to turn right when they reached Westbard Avenue on Ridgefield Road has been removed. Now three of those barrier segments are left, and a large wood sign. A new barricade configuration has been set up on the closed block of Westbard west of Ridgefield, as Montgomery County continues to try to figure how to make it a private cul-de-sac for residents while still making it possible for vehicles to enter and exit the street.
