The Heights food hall & speakeasy "coming soon" in Friendship Heights

Common Plate Hospitality has posted coming-soon signage for its new, upscale food hall called The Heights at Wisconsin Place in the Friendship Heights area of Chevy Chase. The food hall will include 8 stalls, each featuring a different cuisine, and a speakeasy serving cocktails. It replaces P.F. Chang's and Anthropologie at the development. The Heights will open in late 2022, according to the signage, which describes the food hall as "an elevated culinary experience."

Please credit @Pike_and_Rozay for reporting this news first. Thank you 🙏

6:18: Can you be more specific about what aspect of this I would be citing her for? The food hall was announced in July 2021 in a press release, and was widely reported by 20+ news outlets in the area. This is not "new" news. The only thing new is that they put up this signage, which is what I have reported here. I follow Pike and Rozay on Instagram and encourage other people to, as well, but I'm unclear why you are asking me to credit her in this case.

Yes I understand. Earlier in the week she reported in Instagram story that signage was put up at the food hall even though it has been there since the start of May and you reported it soon after her so IMO she should be credited for letting the public know.

1. I honestly did not see that post.

2. The first time I saw the sign was going past Wisconsin Place the day before I posted my pictures of it. It's a sign in a public place, and in my "neighborhood," of course I would see it. Under journalistic guidelines, I would not even be obligated to cite a previous report for such a situation.

3. The sign was not up "since the start of May;" it can't have been there for more than 10 days or so. I went by the previous week and it wasn't there. This is a familiar exaggerating tactic employed by an anonymous commenter on this site many times in the past. Saying a business that opened yesterday has been open for six weeks, when I had scooped everybody on the opening, for example.

4. This out-of-left-field attack sounds like gaslighting for the many acts of plagiarism other local news outlets have been stealing my work through. Where have you been those dozens and dozens and dozens of times? Where are your comments on their articles?

5. The MoCo Show had somebody run over and take pictures of Foxtrot signage last week hours after I posted my photos of it. As a champion of integrity, surely you have posted a comment to demand they cite me as the source for that story.

6. Pike and Rozay posted about one of the Bethesda Row-area scoops I reported late last week, and I don't recall being cited as the source, and that was a situation where a citation was needed. I didn't say anything, and then, ironically, days later, I'm seeing this demand of yours for credit for a situation where it doesn't even apply. Are you making similar demands of her, as well?

7. The other day, Bethesda Magazine did not cite me as the source for Laduree opening, and it also falsely credited MoCo Show as being first to report Mexicue opening. Surely you are on top of this theft and misrepresentation, as well!

8. Keep us posted on your vigorous efforts to make those outlets correct the record, I look forward to updates on your progress.

Ah, now there is the Robert Dyer that I have known and loved for nearly a decade. Sadly he hasn't been so... strident these past two years.
